Park Shelters
Salem has over 238 acres of park land.  Beautiful Bryan Memorial Park, Salem's largest park, is home to two ballfields, picnic areas, eight shelters, a playground, four lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, a skate park, and Salem Family Aquatic Facility.

Park Shelters:
Shelter 1 - 24.5' x 40' structure with water and electricity (round tables)
Shelter 2 - nearest the band stage, is 27' x 33' with water and electricity
Shelter 3 - 20' x 30' with electricity, but no water
Shelter 4 - 19' x 29' with water and electricity
Shelter 5 - commonly known as the Tee Pee, is 25' diameter, with water and electricity
Shelter 6 - 19' x 29', with water, but no electricity
Shelter 7 - located just south of the Salem Family Aquatic Center, is 20' x 40', with electricity               and water
Shelter 8 - 12' x 26', with no water or electricity

The shelters may be reserved at Salem City Hall, beginning on the first business day of each year and are available to reserve from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. or all day.  Shelter reservation fee for each 6 hour time slot is $5.00 for those residing within Salem City limits $7.00 for those residing outside Salem City limits or double the fee for the all day.

Annual events held in Bryan Memorial Park are Family Fun Day held in June, Bluegrass BBQ Festival the first weekend after Labor Day, and the Apple Festival in mid September.

A short distance from Bryan Memorial Park is the Bryan Nature Trail, located just north of the Public Hospital of the Town of Salem.  There is a one and three-quarter mile interpretive trail. Trail guide pamphlets are available at Salem City Hall.
