The City of Salem Landfill will accept waste until Friday, October 15, 2010. The Salem Landfill will be closed for business after October 15, 2010. The City of Salem residential curbside trash pickup and curbside compost pickup will continue on the regular schedule and no change will occur in these services. Those wishing to utilize landfill services are directed to other landfills or transfer stations.
As of September 25, 2008, the posted gate fee for disposal of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is $14.50 per cubic yard. The gate fee for Construction and Demolition debris is $26.50 per cubic yard. Minimum fee for any load of MSW household waste is $15.00. (These fees are subject to change at the City’s discretion, without prior notification to Haulers. Current fees will be posted at the landfill office.)
As of November 1st, 2003, a state tax of .55 per cubic yard will added to all gate fees collected.
As of November 7th, 2009, the landfill is not accepting construction or demolition materials.
