What are the City of Salem water rates? |
If your service is located inside the city limits, the water rate is $14.45 for the first 1,000 gallons of water and $4.53 for each additional 1,000 gallons.
If your service is located outside the city limits, the rate is $17.41 for the first 1,000 gallons of water and $10.81 for each additional 1,000 gallons.
What are the City of Salem sewer rates? |
If your service is located inside the city limits, the sewer rate is $10.88 of the first 1,000 gallons and $3.53 for each additional 1,000 gallons.
If your service is located outside the city limits, the sewer rate is $13.31 for the first 1,000 gallons and $4.33 for each additional 1,000 gallons.
What are the City of Salem gas rates? |
Gas rates are adjusted and posted monthly. Please call the utility office at 548-2222, ext. 18 to determine the current rate.
Do I have to pay a deposit to establish service? |
The standard deposits for residential service are $100.00 for water and $250.00 for gas. If you are a commercial or industrial user your deposit will be based on usage.
Do I need to come to City Hall to establish service? |
Yes. There is an application form that needs your original signature, as well as your social security number and driver's license number.
The utility counter is located in the main lobby of Salem City Hall, at 101 S. Broadway. There is a night deposit slot on the north side of the building on Main Street where payments may be submitted after hours.
I've just repaired a leak. Can I get an adjustment on my bill? |
Yes. Please contact the Utility Department to request an adjustment. If an adjustment is warranted your credit will be based on your previous usage.
If I am experiencing difficulty in paying my monthly bill can I set up a payment plan? |
Yes. If you are experiencing difficulty in paying your utility bill and need to set up alternate payment arrangements, please meet with the Utility Clerk to enter into a written payment agreement.
