A Message from the Chairman……

Our committee and the City of Salem are proud to be working together to~create a park on the former Sweney’s Drug Store site.~ Sweney's and nickel cokes were a Salem mainstay for generations. We hope to honor those memories from the past by creating a park setting on the corner that~will become a source of pride for future generations.

The open design invites people to walk through the gardens and to sit and enjoy the fountain and the plantings.~ The feature wall take you back to the '50's with~a 12' x 40' mural looking into Sweney's Drug Store.

We will continue to solicit donations to fund the corner project and~
the mural.~ The public support from individuals, organizations and corporations has been essential to this task.~ The more $5 to $500~
donations we receive, the more plantings and features we will be able~to include in the design.  Anyone who wishes to make a tax deductible~donation to the Sweney Corner can contact Bev West at City Hall or any~committee member.~ Make donations payable to the City of Salem.

Again, we thank all of you who are interested in this project and who~
help us reach our goal.~ We appreciate your interest, suggestions and~support.
