~ Santa Claus arrives
at the Salem Theater in a horse-drawn trolley
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Horse-drawn trolley rides with Santa
in a carriage pulled by Outlaw and Harvey!
$1 per person, payable as your board the trolley.
Friday - December 2
FREE movies
at Salem Community Theater
Children 12 years old & younger MUST BE accompanied by an adult.
6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

A girl uses dogs to teach people about the true meaning of Christmas during the Depression.

Shrek wants to throw the perfect Christmas for Fiona and the kids but as an ogre,
has no Yule experience. Shrek becomes so focused on doing the holiday "by the book"
that he fails to notice the magic and chaos all around him.

Saturday - December 10
Christmas is for Kids!
(of all ages, of course!)
9:00 a.m. 11:30 a.m.
at Salem’s Bryan Bennett Library
$6.00/person for breakfast or lunch
Carols, crafts, and lots of fun!
Must register and pay fee at Salem City Hall
no later than noon on Wednesday, December 7.
No tickets will be sold at the door.
All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
TSS Photography will be on hand to take professional pictures of
your child with Santa! Picture packages will be available.
2011 Holiday Bus Trip
Our bus trip to see Lee Greenwood in Effingham has been
CANCELLED.
However, we have 20 tickets to the December 10 performance
--you drive yourself.
Great seats--Center Level A

Effingham Performance Center
For more than two decades, Lee Greenwood has
created and embodied the sound of America.
Best known for his single "God Bless the USA,"
Greenwood will be performing traditional Christmas songs for your holiday enjoyment.

Calls from Santa
A special treat for children at Christmas time is the chance to talk directly to Santa Claus himself!
This night of excitement and enchantment will be on
Tuesday, December 13
6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Children need only write a letter to Santa
to receive a person-to-person call directly from the North Pole.
Letters should be placed in Santa's special mailbox, located at Salem City Hall or mailed to
Santa Claus
c/o City of Salem Recreation Department
101 South Broadway Salem, IL 62881.
Letter forms are available at Salem City Hall or you may print off the letter below,
or follow the letter form to write your own letter.
(Because Santa is so busy during the Holiday season,
he will only have time to call children who are 10 years old and younger.)
