Permit Fees
Building Permit Fees:
I.) Section 6-27
a. Single and two-family structures, including mobile and modular structures, ten cents ($0.10) per square foot up to five thousand square feet; seven cents ($0.07) per square foot for each additional square foot, with a minimum fee of $100.00.
II.) Section 6-27(a)(2)(a)
a. Additions to existing structures and accessory structures, ten cents ($0.10) per square foot; a minimum fee of $25.00.
III.) Section 6-27 (a)(2)(b)
b. Swimming pools; temporary or permanent installation $25.00.
IV.) Section 6-27 (a)(3)
3). Commercial/Industrial. New construction and additions, ten cent ($0.10) per square foot up to five thousand square feet; seven cents ($0.07) per square foot over five thousand
square feet; a minimum fee of $100.00.
V.) Section 6-27 (4)
4). Institutional and Public Buildings. New construction and additions, seven cents ($0.07) per square foot up to five thousand square feet; five cents ($0.05) per square foot over five thousand square feet; a minimum fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00).
VI.) Section 6-27 (6)
6). Work without a permit: An additional fee of $25.00 shall be charged for all work done or initiated without the issuance of the permits required.
VII). Section 23-384 (d)
(7) Demolition Permits. A demolition permit is required for the demolition and/or removal of any structure. No demolition shall be allowed until the permit is approved and the property inspected. Commercial Properties must file a permit application with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The owner/contractor shall be responsible for any and all Illinois State Required submittals, lead or asbestos abatement forms, and fees, and it shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/contractor to comply with any and all guidance provided by the IEPA. Demolition Permits shall be valid for a period of thirty (30) days. Within thirty (30) days of the issuance of the permit, the structure should be demolished, debris removed, and the site leveled. Any remaining manmade material shall constitute a nuisance and may result in citations, liens, etc. Should the owner/contractor neglect to demolish the permitted structure within the thirty (30) day period, a new demolition permit shall be required. Forty dollars ($40.00) shall be charged for the demolition of any structure.
(8) Sign Permit Fees shall be as follows:
1)Twenty-five cents ($0.25) per square foot of facing, but not less than ten dollars ($10.00) for all signs requiring a permit, including enlarged areas of existing signs and relocated signs.
2) Ten dollars ($10.00) for temporary signs and banners.
b) All permit fees shall be paid to the City Clerk. Fees may be paid by check, cash, or credit/debit card.
