Gas, Water & Sewer Tap Fees
Gas Tap: The fee for each gas tap will be determined under the following basis:
- Length of service line
- Meter size needed
- Amount of BTU's needed
- Installation type (trenching or boring)
- The minimum charge for any gas tap service will be nine hundred dollars ($900.00). The fee for a larger size tap or running greater distance than fifty (50) feet, or both, shall be based upon the actual labor and materials expended in the making of such tap. The city will maintain the responsibility of running the line from the main to the meter.
- Upon application the gas superintendent the project will be inspected and the tap size will be determined.
- When gas is removed by the city at the request of the property owner, the renewal shall be four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00) or time and material; whichever is cheaper. After one year of removal a full tap fee will be charged.
Water Tap: The fee for making each water tap for a length of not over fifty (50) feet shall be as follows:
Residential
- 3/4" - $1,500
- 1" - $2,500
- 2" - $6,500
- Over 2" - Cost of material plus 5%
Commercial
- $2,500 (1" and not more than 50 feet in length)
- $6,500 (2" and not more than 50 feet in length)
- over 2" cost plus 5%
The City will maintain the responsibility of running the water and gas lines from the main to the meter.
Sewer Tap:
Residential
- $200 (if using a 3/4" water line)
- $300 (if using a 1" water line)
Commercial
- $300 (1" water meter or larger)
**The City does not perform sewer taps. The property owner must utilize a licensed plumber and pay all costs. The City's Permit fee is to cover the location and supervision of the work.**
