Hydrant Flushing

The City of Salem flushed all water hydrants two times each year to clean any settling of particles or debris from the water system.

While flushing is being done the water in your area remains safe to drink but may become discolored for a few days.  During this time customers are asked to avoid washing white or light colored clothing as they may become discolored.
